Because our academic philosophies are so focused on technical literacy and use, we have a great need for funding dedicated to digital equipment. We have to acquire computers, Internet capabilities, routers, cables, smart boards, and various software components. We also have to buy several large television screens for the use in the classroom. Students will use these screens to communicate with children in the United States.

In order for our programs to reach low-income areas, we need to acquire portable screens, projectors and tablets.

Bilingual Angels exists to provide a residential, educational program for disadvantaged Colombian children, from infancy through age six, to early adulthood. These programs will be free for all residents. In order to enroll your child in the program, parents should contact the organization directly. Parents can discuss their financial situation and the particular needs of the child with the staff of the organization. Prior to acceptance, parents must agree to assist the organization's care for their children, participating in fundraising efforts or providing support for class donation whenever possible. The staff will accept the children in the program based on their demonstrated need.

Children who enter the program will live in a residential center attached to the school. The center will offer dormitory-style housing according to the child's age and sex. The organization will ensure that a sufficient number of staff members are assigned to each shared unit so that there is sufficient supervision of an adult at all times. Children will have three nutritious meals each day and social activities organized on a regular basis. Each day will include a schedule of activities that include lessons, sports games, computer time, language practice and free play. In addition, the facility will include a nurse's office that can provide basic medical care for all children. Children will receive regular check-ups and recommended vaccinations. If a child presents a serious medical problem, bilingual Angels ensure that excellent medical care is provided. Children will remain in the housing facilities for as long as both the organization and the parents agree. There is no maximum time limit in a potential stay.

The most impressive piece of our program is the academic instruction received by these young individuals. Our curricula focus on language teaching in the effort to provide our children with the gift of fluency in a second language, English. We use online resources and curricula, such as Little Pim, Hooked on Phonics, and Reading Eggs, as components of our teaching methodology, to encourage language learning. All activities are appropriately oriented to the age of the child participating in the lesson. We also hold regular web talks with students of similar age in the United States so that children can practice their language skills. By the time the children are six years of age, fluency in both Spanish and English is expected.

We also use the online curricula in the areas of mathematics, social studies and science. Each child will receive a tablet to complete their assignments and lessons. By using their tablets to access online content, children practice their computer skills as well as increase their knowledge base. We will ask the children to complete the small projects, appropriate to the age to demonstrate their mastery of the subject. Our curriculum will also include character formation and moral lessons for children. We will teach each child to live their life with integrity, empathy, and a high level of self-esteem.
